one year older and wiser too...

im not too sure about the wiser part, but i am in fact one year older. i like being 23 now. it sounds a lot older than 22. now when people ask me how old i am and then look down at eli, i wont get as weird of looks. well, that's probably wishful thinking.

this year i really didnt care much about my birthday. i only remembered when someone else mentioned it, and didn't care to do much for it. i dont know if i was too caught up in packing for japan or what, but i was at a point where all i wanted to do was hang with tanner and eli...which is what i do every saturday. luckily, tanner would have none of that, and decided to surprise me with a scavenger hunt.

we slept in late on the grand morning of nov. 15, which is a rarity and always appreciated. i got ready, ate, hung out for a little bit, and then got my first clue at 12:00 sharp.

envelope 1:
megan, i am complete when your by my side. i cannot express the joy i feel knowing i am connected to you eternally.

= go get my hair cut by pecha. i decided to go for the cut i have been wanting to do for almost 2 years...super short. i like it now, but at first i wasn't so sure i did the right thing.

envelope 2:
megan, your smile, your laugh are little pieces of heaven...i'm sure you look great, you always do [regarding my hair cut].

so erin and i took the cash and the coupons, and started shopping! this was such a treat for me because i have been supressing the shopping desire because of lack of funds to pay for it. so this was great to go and look for things for myself.

at 3:45 erin handed me my next clue

= meet tanner and eli at yummy's, my favorite cupcake place for some delicious red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. so good.


we then went home and got ready for the night. linda (tanner's mom) babysat eli so that tanner and i could go on a date. tanner made dinner reservations at lago, which we have been wanting to try, and oh my, it might just be my new favorite restaurant. here he gave me my fifth envelope which i am not going to share here, but will always keep for myself because of the sweet things it says. we then finished spending the rest of my birthday money and had a great time with eachother.
