my durfday

durfday = how tanner used to pronounce 'birthday' when he was little.

speaking of tanner, he spoiled me big time for my birthday this year. we celebrated for a few days... which i loved, and think we should do that every year. we started the festivities on thursday night when we dropped eli and isaac off late at carly and chad's house.

on friday tanner had to do some work and then we had a big breakfast at ihop and walked on over to disneyland. it was insanely crowded. we waited in line for space mountain for all of 10 minutes, and decided we had to get outta there cause it wasn't worth the hour long wait. i guess we are not so patient. or, when you're used to going when there are only 5-10 minute waits for the popular rides you get spoiled. so we went to california adventure and went on california screaming and tower of terror. we then went to downtown disney and had a late lunch and saw megamind (super cute). we then went back to dland and rode indiana jones (totally worked it with the single rider pass and only had to wait about 15 min (when it was an 80 min wait) and still got to ride together) and thunder mountain. we then walked to the garden walk and at dinner at pf changs.

saturday we picked up the boys from carly's house (thanks again car) and hung out for a bit. then we went to the chris and courtney's so i could get my hair done (thanks again court) and tanner could watch part of the byu game. we then went to the irvine spectrum and got me my new iphone 4. i still don't quite know how to use it... but i do love it. i actually had big time buyers remorse about it. i have always had a lame phone and was just fine with that. it was like i was living the angel on one shoulder and the little devil on the other. one side telling me that i dont need such an expensive phone and that i should return it. and then the other side saying enjoy it... its awesome and will keep your child entertained while on the go when needed. so i'm sticking with the latter of the two sides. anyways, we then went back to disneyland (cal adventure actually) and watched a parade and rode a couple rides for eli. the whole reason for our disneyland outing was because our passes expired that sunday. so it was great that we reminded eli of how awesome disneyland is right when we couldn't go back cause we dont have passes anymore... maybe not the best idea but thats okay. the night came to a close with a surprise dinner at cpk with some of my favorite people.

here are pictures from our weekend, all from my phone -

1st picture... pretty qood quality, huh?
getting excited to go to disneyland
right before the parade started. oh, eli...

at my surprise dinner
i woke up on monday, my actual birthday, to signs posted up on the walls that tanner (and eli) made for me (a daniels family tradition). for example some said, 'i love my milk machine mommy. love, isaac' and 'mommy is so pretty' love, eli' (i've trained him to say that), and a few other cute ones from tanner. tanner kept asking me what i'd like for breakfast, and eli kept saying he wanted pancakes. so tanner explained that it was mommy's birthday so she gets to pick what we have and after a minute of thinking about it eli said, "daddy, mommy wants pancakes!" so pancakes and scrambled eggs it was. it was a very typical, great day but tanner brought home dinner and cupcakes from jones on 3rd which was a great break from what's normal. tanner surprised me with a personal session with a yoga instructor. she'll come to our apartment, and will teach tanner and i two different 20 minute yoga exercises we can do before we go to bed. which is something i've been wanting us to do together for a long time now. so i really cant wait.
at the park on my bday after nap time. we aren't liking how early it gets dark.
love these cheeks
about to sing happy birthday
i had a great birthday weekend and felt very loved.
