day 4: sunday
today was our first day of rain, which really didn't matter too much because most of our activities were indoor anyways (superbowl sunday...). eli and tanner did manage to sneak out to the beach to have fun even though the sun wasn't out and it was raining on and off.
that evening we took the boys to the temple. we walked around for a long time and had a good time while trying to keep eli from not running all over the place and screaming (he really likes wide open spaces... :).
day 5: since we weren't sure if the weather was going to hold out or not, we decided to go to kualoa ranch. they had some animals for the boys to see, and we took the bus ride around the beautiful mountains to learn about some of the movies that were filmed there. anyone recognize the submarine in the bottom right picture? yep... thats from lost. some of the other film spots we saw were from jurassic park, godzilla, you me and dupree, 50 first dates, and a couple other lost shots (like when hurley would go golfing). obviously the boys didn't care about the movie stuff, but thought riding in a bus with no windows or seat belts was the coolest thing ever. also on the side of the mountain there was a huge bunker left over from WW2 that we built after pearl harbor. it was really interesting to walk around in there (you can see it in the pic below of tanner and eli).
it rained at the end of our tour, but by the time we drove back to our little area the weather seemed okay... so we decided to go back to hukilau again. unfortunately that fun didnt last long because it started raining again so we went home for a late lunch and let isaac take a nap.
that evening after dinner, we went out again for some ice cream and shaved ice for our last night. the next day we woke up and got everything pack up and headed for the airport. our return flight was i'm sure the most amazing trip we'll ever have with kids. it wasn't a full flight so tanner and eli moved over to some empty seats to the side of our middle row. i was able to lye isaac down and get him nice and comfortable with blankets and pillows... and he slept for over 3 hours.
when we just got to hawaii we shared an elevator with some people from virginia. they seemed surprised when we told them we were visiting from santa monica, and asked why we came to hawaii when we live right next to a beach. and although i love our beach, it definitely can't compete with hawaii. we had so much fun and have already made comments about going back and staying in that same house on the beach.

Miracles do happen...2 posts in 1 day...I am a happy sister :) It seriously looks like the perfect vacation. I love the bus tour, I think it would have been so cool to see some of those things and I love all the temple pictures!
that house is amazing. you guys planned that trip right.
I'll comment again later. I feel like I have a window, considering how often you post lately. :)
you all look so great - i love the kids and their boards. so so cute!
I'm so jealous! That trip looks like so much fun. One of these days we're going to pull an "elton" move and book our trip the day before... and likely to Hawaii :)
