october + halloween

october. how the months just keep rolling on. we had some fun outings this month that i wanted to remember.

this year i realized how awesome october beach days are. this particular day was especially warm (mid 80's) and instead of sweating it out in our apartment, we went down to the beach and enjoyed the perfect weather there with other locals. i love going when its not crowded. i mostly sat on the towel simply watching my boys play together... it was awesome.

tanner took 1/2 day off one day so we could go do disneyland (the boys had been begging to go) to see the halloween decorations. the boys new favorite ride is autopia, which is now a must every time we go. on our second go at this ride eli kept saying, "mom, my car is being a crazy bad driver!".

 eli being his usual protective self with his little brother. i love instagram mainly for this reason... being able to capture these quick, simple, but special little moments.

we went to a pumpkin patch here in santa monica this year one evening. of course the boys loved running from area to area playing in each different section. luckily it wasn't a crowded night so they were able to go crazy in the bouncy house (which may or may not have scared a few kids out... yeah these boys can be a tad intense for some).

the weekend before halloween our church had a trunk or treat. eli and isaac were SO excited and were in love with their costumes.

on halloween eli had a harvest celebration in his preschool. it was great being able to see him in his element, and of course after seeing eli now isaac wants to go to school too (like, its a struggle to get him out of the classroom everyday).

after last halloween was such a success with aunt erin at her home in west LA, we were happy to go back again this year. but this time we were able to enjoy the festivities with more family which made it even more fun. here are some pictures of our fun night with iron man, captain america, and a fighter pilot (courtesy of tanner's dad... i didn't really take any pictures that night... whoops).

 sadly i had to take almost half of isaac's candy away because of his peanut allergy. sad for him, and sad for me who is typically not a candy eater... but i definitely ate all his! stupid candy.

all the boys had a great time trick or treating. eli was definitely out in front leading everyone from house to house on his mission to fill his bag full of candy. on the other end was isaac who is mr. distraction so we had to pull him along with us to keep up and not get lost in the crowd. since then isaac has asked me almost daily if its halloween today. i think he enjoyed it :).
