march 2013

the first week of march was spent in argentina and chile. it also felt like it took at least a week of lying on the couch as much as possible to recover from that trip. but, here are some random pictures of two cute little boys -

this never happened... so i was enjoying every minute of this boy falling asleep on the couch while cuddling. well, i enjoyed it until my arm fell asleep.

shannon got her mission call to budapest, hungary mission! she is such a rock star.

as i mentioned above, i tried to lye down on the couch as often as possible. isaac was taking a nap, so eli (in a star wars costume) was being silly while playing with blocks and blake griffin. he was keeping us well entertained.

these boys got pink berry as their reward for going to bed with their room clean every night for a week. isaac is all over the place, but eli can be a good worker when he sets his mind to it (and as long as i'm helping.).

eli was always so excited when it was time to wake isaac up from his nap. and i love this picture of isaac.

luckily isaac doesn't seem to mind and returns his big brothers love full heartedly.

we were able to take a trip up to underwood family farms with our besties courtney and westin while they were back visiting.

 we went through the temple for bj's first time. carly, erin and i are all pregnant here!

easter was an exciting time in the elton family. lexi and her family came back to visit with quinn, the newest addition to the family. it was also the weekend bj gave his farewell talk. it was so great getting to spend time together with everyone in santa barbara.

birthday + easter weekend

we had a very fun weekend. on friday evening tanner picked up lexi and zoe from the airport and brought back cafe rio with them. it has been way too long since we've seen lex, but this was our first time meeting our beautiful niece zoe so it was extra fun.

saturday was isaac's first birthday! we had waffles for breakfast, and all the elton's were able to come to the santa monica pier for isaac's birthday party. tanner brought food from the veggie grill, erin made delicious cupcakes, and byron made his famous guacamole and bread. we sat at the tables right outside the historic carousel and took a ride on it at the end of the party. ps- if you don't recognize that toddler with short hair... its eli. the master stylist, lexi herself, gave eli a much needed cut (that he has been asking to have for a long time now). pps- isaac decided he'd rather face plant onto concrete than sit in his stroller... so he has a nice scab on his nose. consider yourself warned : )

it was really sunny so we have no good cake pics with isaac's eyes open... but you definitely can't complain about having perfect sunny weather for an outdoor party

on sunday it was easter. the boys woke up to cool sand trucks/toys from the easter bunny (the bunny may or may not have got the trucks from the pier the day before...)

that morning we went up to valencia for our handsome nephew's baby blessing. cash was amazing during it and didn't make a peep. we were extremely happy we were able to be there with everyone for such a great day.

this weekend was filled with fun... some of my favorite people... and a lot of love.

easter

tanner couldn't be with us this year on easter. he had to go to the final four on a business trip... which is actually kinda true... but i think the women reading this will see how i usually can't help but roll my eyes when i say it.

so, eli and i decided to head up to santa barbara after the first session of general conference on sunday so we could spend some time with family. i put some easter eggs around the back yard, and it was so cute seeing eli run around to all the different eggs he could see to put them in his basket. he wont know he got gipt till he's older when he sees that i put grapes in his eggs instead of candy (the reeses candy i got were too hard for him + target didnt have anything else good on saturday night = improvise) but he definitely still had a blast.

last year after the easter egg hunt (which consisted of me sitting eli down by a couple of eggs and him playing with the basket) we had some fun with bubbles, so to keep the tradition of fun going, we busted out the bubbles again.

tanner was sad he missed out so we are waiting to do the basket so he can take part in the festivities... and who knows.... we might have another go at the easter egg hunt just cause its fun.

easter weekend

kristen came to visit! i always love having family in town, and was especially happy she made time to come out since she is already in transit (with stops in dc and london) to uganda for four months. she is a country director for an organization called help international, and i think that is awesome. if i was at a different stage in my life i would totally be there with her. anyways, we were also able to meet her bf, will, who we definitely like and had so much fun with them both.

we were in santa barbara for easter sunday. it was a beautiful day filled with family and good food. g&g elton had a easter egg hunt so we let eli go first...and he pretty much scooted over to one egg and was done. i put some eggs in his cute basket for him, but as you can see from the picture they didnt stay in for too long.
