our first flight was 12 1/2 hours to korea. eli only slept for 4 1/2 hours which was a total bummer. i was counting on him sleeping a lot longer than that since it was a night flight, he had a bassinet (that his feet were sticking out of...he was a little tall for it), and we gave him some benadryl (that we tested out the day before and it totally worked). eli was pretty good on the flight, but it is still a high stress situation because i never felt like i could relax. we had a six hour layover in korea which actually went by faster than expected. then a two hour flight to sapporo. my mom was there to pick us up and i was so excited to see her. we made a stop at costco and then came back to the mission home to see my dad. my mom made us some homemade mac n cheese ... which is the best ever ... and then my parents left to go to a fireside and we opted to stay home and go to sleep.
the next day was sunday. we woke up at five, then was greeted by my dad at 6. we walked bella (my parents cute, hyper dog) at a nearby park which was so pretty and am excited to walk through it again. we started off our church day going to a baptism, then headed off to another ward. my dad spoke in sacrament meeting, and then tanner and i walked around with eli during sunday school to try to keep ourselves awake, then my mom, eli, and i made it through about 5 minutes of relief society since eli was being squirmy and we didnt have a translator. we then went to a fireside 30 min after church that my dad was doing on eternal families. it was really good and i'm grateful that the missionaries were there to translate for us. sunday also happened to be my parents 29th anniversary. everyone was so kind to them and gave them flowers at church which was very sweet. also, 4 missionaries had a lunch/dinner all prepared for us when we got home from the fireside. it was so nice to see how much the missionaries here love and appreciate my parents. there was yet another fireside that night that because of timing we opted to stay at home for.
today has been awesome. we laid low this morning, and then went to capricciosas, which is my favorite italian restaurant ever, for lunch. after that we came home for a little while, then the senior missionary sister watched eli while the rest of us went and park golfed. i unfortunately lost, but i should have been expecting that. now we are back at home and my mom is making butter chicken, my favorite indian meal. life is pretty amazing when you are back at home... or at least where ever your parents are : )
i am pretty tired ... so sorry if my writing is pretty terrible. i just wanted to give the update on our first little while here and how i've been loving every minute of it.

It is really nice to be with mom and dad, wherever they may be. I'm glad you made the looooong flight over. Now it's just time to relax and enjoy time with the family.
Have fun!
It is so nice to have mom around! I need to hire a "mom" while she is out of the country cause mom's are the most amazing things ever, especially our mom!! It sounds like your trip has been nice and relaxing so far and I am glad everyone is adjusting quickly to jet lag!!!
