spring visitors

i was in heaven last week when not only one, but two of my sisters came into town. and even better than that, one of my other sisters came into town over the weekend to spend time with us... so to add up the amount of sisters, that means 3 at one time. unfortunately we were still missing the eldest sis, and jor, you were very missed. i know, there are a lot of girls in my family : )
so here is the week re-cap.
saturday: everyone arrived. well, shannon took the train down friday night so she got an extra night with us. on saturday we picked kristen up from the airport that afternoon coming from dc, and lauren got here a few hours later in her new prius (brakes are checked and are good) from utah. about an hour after laur got here tanner arrived back home from vegas... so all was great. our good friend pete also came up for the day to hang out so that was fun. we went to the promenade to walk around/get food and had a blast all together.
sunday: typical day. we went to church, came home and had lunch, hung out, and went to the beach that evening.
monday: we met one of kristen's good friends from hs and went into little tokyo in downtown la to get some delicious ramen. ramen is something i've missed a lot since being here, and i can't believe it's taken us so long to find a good ramen shop in the area! everyone liked it, although eli wasn't too big of a fan of his fried rice, i'm excited to go back. then while eli took a nap, laur and kristen headed to the beach. that evening we took a walk to trader joe's and got stuff to make my pasta i've been obsessed with lately and had a fun night in.
tuesday: we took a drive up to santa barbara to spend some more time with shannon. we went to delicious free birds for lunch down by ucsb's campus, and then went to crush cafe for some delicious cupcakes as a treat. later that day we got to see shannon ride her horse, levi, and then right after the barn went to state street to walk around.
wednesday: beach day! well, i unfortunately couldn't stay that long because i had my 34th week doctor's check up, but it was still a beautiful day and was really fun. after i got home from my appointment we all drove down to huntington beach area to do a little shopping, and then to celebrate erin's birthday that evening. i have some of the prettiest sisters/sisters-in-law around!
thursday: kristen unfortunately had to leave us this day. and after she left, laur and i were going to try to go to the beach, but when we got down there it was insanely foggy so we turned right around and came home. that night we decided to celebrate laur's bday (which is actually today- happy birthday sis!) by going to cholada's right off the pch in malibu (yum!), and then got milkshakes at millions of milkshakes (double yum). we saw this random celeb at millions of milkshakes, and saw another famous guy (pulled up in a +500,000 car with a driver) that we can't figure out who exactly he is while at cholada's.
friday: lauren and i got to got do a session at the temple which was great. we took another walk to trader joe's to get some more food, and then had another fun night in with good food and had a movie night.
saturday: we took a little trip down to china town in la. i am surprised it took us so long to go since we've been living here for over two years, but at least we've done it now. it was little, but still cute and fun to explore. we then came home and had some friends over to watch the byu basketball game... unfortunately they lost. then when that was over we went on a random trip to cafe rio in manhattan beach for a late dinner.

sunday: lauren left early that morning to drive back to utah.

i had so much fun with my sister's and already can't wait to see them all again!

Wow! That really does look like such a fun week. I love the picture of Eli sitting on your tummy at the beach, it's REALLY great. I'm also going to keep track of all the fun places you mentioned eating at, as I've hardly eaten at any of them myself. And next time you guys make a trip to Cafe Rio we'd love to come - my pregnant tummy is happy just from the suggestion!

What a amazing time with most of the sisters. I know each of you enjoyed every moment. I love the pictures and to see those beautiful faces. There are so many times that I will be thinking about all of you and such a huge feeling of thankfulness fills my heart. I have the most amazing children! Meg, you are a amazing hostess.
