eclipse premier

i have been a bad blogger. not that anyone else really cares, besides my mom, but i don't like when i get out of sync with updating about my fun (yet usually uneventful) life. so to kick back into gear i'll catch up on my fun night out to the eclipse premier at the nokia theater in downtown los angeles.

yes, and those photo's were sponsored by ultimat vodka. nice. i want to have whatever camera they used... i do appreciate the instant smoothing of my skin to make it appear not all acnefied.

so here's how it went down-- you'd think knowing far in advance that you were going to a big premier you would start getting prepare for it... buy/pick out an outfit, plan hair and makeup... you know, the usuals. but this wasn't so much the case. i did buy a new pair of jeans for it (mainly cause i can't fit into most of mine, and the ones i can are old and stretched out), but carly and i ventured out the day of to figure out what we were wearing. we were pretty rushed to get ready... because the story of my life seems to be me being off on timeing... but luckily we were able to walk out the door fully prepared for the evening.

chad (carly's husband) was a trooper and watched eli at our apartment. they had fun at the park for a couple hours, came home and had dinner, and eli went off to bed without a hitch. my good friend natalie was kind enough to watch isaac so before we left for the evening i dropped him off with her.

once tanner got home we loaded in the car to head over, and once we parked, we walked over to a yummy, nice mexican restaurant to meet up with byron, linda, and erin to have some dinner. after dinner we walked around la live to see the red (excuse me, it was a black carpet) carpet and a few stars getting interviewed. we decided to head into the theater to get in our seats and byron was kind enough to switch seats with me so i could sit and have fun with the other girls (sorry tanner, i would have had fun with you too... but its different : ).

the movie started an hour late, which was sort of a bummer, but thats okay. everyone in the theater went crazy when rob, kristen, and taylor all came in with their possys and sat down. i loved the movie. eclipse was my favorite book so i knew i'd like it, but i legitimately did. i thought twilight was fine, new moon was pretty good, and really liked eclipse... i guess they just keep getting better!

after the movie we headed over to the after party which was on a rooftop deck. there was a (in comparison) small outdoor area, and then there was an enourmous tent where all the goodies were. inside they tried to make it look twilightish with a big moon in the middle, dimmed lighting, and fog. there were four main elevated platforms and all the star were spread out on those (probably so they didnt have to worry about taking pictures with lame people like me. actually, i'm so lame that i probably wouldn't ask to take a picture with them, even if i wanted to). but anyways, it was so fun to walk around and experience it all. there was amazing food stations set up... i sampled the mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, potato skins bar, cupcakes, and snow cones... they had plenty of other things i wanted to try like the ice cream sundae bar but oh well.

it was such a fun night out that i will never forget. its fun getting dressed up and going out on the town without kids. but while we were standing at a table outside on the deck munching on some potato skins, i couldn't help but think how i couldn't wait to get home and see my boys... and put on sweatpants.... and get in bed (which i was eventually able to do at 2:40am). i guess thats what life as a mom is all about -- so excited to do an activity sans kids, but when you are apart from them you miss them.... and of course about lack of sleep!
