yesterday tanner had his jaw surgery. we woke up at 5:30 to be at the hospital at 6:00am. he got ready and we met with the doctors again, then he went into surgery at 7:15. this was him after he got his gown on.
the surgery took about 4 hours, and then tanner was in the recovery room for almost 3, so it was a while till i got to see him. below is how he looked after surgery (yes, i will note that its from far away. i dont think i'll show an up close picture on here for everyones sake.) the surgery went great and the surgeon said everything went perfectly. 
tanner was supposed to get discharged today at 11am, but unfortunately that wasn't in the cards for him. poor tanner is pretty much having the worst day of his life and is having a rough time with the anesthesia. the nurses wont let him have anything to drink (he has an iv) to try to help, but he's thrown up about every hour or two, and violently (if you know tanner you know what i'm talking about) dry heaves about every 5, 10, or 15 minutes. its been terrible for him. both the nurse and doctor gunson (his surgeon) said this is definitely the worst case of post surgery nausea they've ever seen... and they are very experienced. because of this, tanner gets to spend the night again at the hospital. i spent about 11 hours there today, linda switched with me about 2 hours ago so i am back home with the boys now, and will head back over in 30 minutes to sleep at the hospital with him.
can i just say how grateful i am for helpful family and friends? that makes the biggest difference in a tough situation.

I am SO SO SO SO glad you are in santa barbara and have helpers (and 3 more to arrive today). That is huge! Poor tanner and poor you! We are definitely praying for you and hopefully things get better asap! have byron and a friend (could be dad in a couple hours) give tanner another blessing if they haven't already!
man oh man. We are definitely praying for him. Hang in there sister!
poor tanner! he's in our prayers - hope he starts feeling better and gets to come home.
