family pictures + 2012 christmas card

we did family pictures this year! i don't know why this seems like such an accomplishment, but it definitely felt good to get done. we didn't have any taken last year because tanner still looked a little crazy from his jaw surgery (said with love, of course :) so we were so happy when my friend amy snapped some pictures for us. i love having so many amazing places around us as great photo backdrops. our family pictures from two years ago (when isaac was in his infamous smily-square face stage that i thought was so cute) we went up to the getty museum, and this year we decided to take them at the pier. so here we go, with every single picture -

way more of these turned out than i thought, probably because i had very low expectations of how well certain little boys would cooperate. i told amy that all we need is one good one where we are all smiling and look happy... and luckily we ended up with more than one! we had to appeal to eli's crazy competitive nature with having smiling competitions at each spot we took pictures at. of course eli and isaac always won and got a couple little smarties or m&m's as we walked in between pictures. amy was so awesome so if you need any pictures done in the area then let me know and i'll get you her contact info!
