letterpress

i really, really, really want to learn how to letterpress. this has been a want of mine for a few months, but now i am really wishing i had this set so i can start trying to learn. ideally, i'd like to take a class, but after watching a couple tutorials on youtube i feel like maybe i can do some basic things on my own (with i'm sure a lot of trial and error). remember my list of new years resolutions? well one of them was to learn a new skill in something creative. and i want this to be it.

i dream of making cute cards and labels with this baby. do any of you know how to letterpress? anyone want to teach me? okay, maybe i should actually get the starter set first, but unfortunately don't think i'm going to be able to justify it with all the other purchases we are going to make in the next few months. but i'm still going to keep my fingers crossed...and keep wishing.

time for a switch

i have been feeling a major itch to rearrange eli's room. tanner and i switched up our room (in what little way we could with our huge bed in our small room), and am wanting to continue with the vibe. the problem im running into with eli's room is that its laid out the best way it can be right now (see here...its amazing how uncluttered it is and has now motivated me to make it look the same) and although there is room to switch things around, any other layout wont make as much sense in the room. for example, i use the changing table the most so its right across from the door. or, eli's crib is as far away from the door to hopefully help with noise level/by a window so when he wakes up i can open the blinds so he can see outside. i always thought a crib right under a window would be cute but dont know if i should take the chance living in a earthquake prone area. i dont know, maybe i'll change it anyways and then change it back eventually. some forms of change are fun and energizing. 

i have another want (im sure my list is long). i want a leather jacket. im thinking a brown one with classic lines so it will stay in style for a long time. has anyone seen any cute ones (that wont break the bank)? 

oh how i want

a bicycle! seriously, im not really an obsessive person, but i have been thinking about this a lot lately. i want one with a child seat for little eli, and a basket as well. im picturing saturday trips to the farmers market and loading all the good produce in my basket, trips to the park, and if i ever get in good enough shape i'll add trips to the beach on that list. i think this would be oh so fun. as i've been doing a little research the past couple weeks, i definitely like the idea of a child seat in the front like this one...

i hope i can post in the next couple months with a picture of my new bike... but we'll see.
